Franchise FC's play-off ambitions were given a knock as fellow play-off chases Carlisle United claimed their first away win of 2012 with the Cumbrians claiming a 2-1 win at Stadium:Franchise. Williams gave the Franchise Holders the lead in the 80th minute, only to see a Cook brace snatch the points away with a leveller in the 83rd minute and a penalty to claim the win in the 92nd minute. Franchise FC 5th, Carlisle United 6th.

Stevenage Borough had to come from behind to gain a draw against managerless AFC Bournemouth at Broadhall Way as Thomas (18th min) and Malone (36th min) fired the Cherries in to a 2-goal lead. That advantage was wiped out before half time as Freeman (38th min) and Bostwick (45th min) levelled matters before the break. Stevenage Borough 7th, AFC Bournemouth 12th.

With 8 matches left to play, have Brentford left it too late for a run in to the final play-off place? Any such hopes were not the least bit harmed with a comfortable 3-1 away win over Preston North End at Deepdale. Logan (9th min) and Donaldson (22nd min pen) fired the Bees in to a 2-goal lead, with a Parry penalty halving the deficit going in at the break. Donaldson put the result beyond doubt when he scored his second of the game in the 53rd minute to seal a valuable 3-points. Preston North End 15th, Brentford 9th.

Colchester United are back to their Jeckyll and Hyde ways, going down to a 3-1 defeat at struggling Walsall who gave their chances of staying up a huge boost, even though Wordsworth gave ColU the lead at Bescot in the 11th minute. Goals from Ledesma (38th min), Sadler (44th min), and Bowerman (73rd) ensured that the points remained in the West Midlands, with the result also seeing the Saddlers climb back above the dreaded dotted line leading to League Two. Walsall 20th, Colchester United 10th.

Leyton Orient eased fears of being dragged too much in to a relegation dog-fight with a 1-0 win over Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park. Mooney scored the only goal of the game in the 70th minute, which saw the O's reduced to 10-men when Dickson was sent off in the 86th minute. Oldham Athletic 14th, Leyton Orient 17th.
