Doncaster Rovers managed to see off much improved Hartlepool United at the Keepmoat Stadium with a decent 3-0 with goals from Hume (35th min), Coppinger (54th min) and Paynter (81st min) proved to be enough to keep Rovers on course to return to the second tier at the first time of asking. Doncaster Rovers 1st, Hartlepool United 23rd.

Sheffield United kept pace with a 2-0 win of their own away at Oldham Athletic as Doyle (57th min) and Kitson (86th min) scored the goals to seal the win for the Blades. Oldham Athletic 21st, Sheffield United 2nd.

Swindon Town had to come from behind to seal the win against Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena to claim a 2-1 win after Moussa gave the Sky Blues the lead in the 2nd minute. Late goals from Williams (86th min) and Ward (90th min) proved to be enough. Coventry City 9th, Swindon Town 3rd.

Brentford also claimed a win, albeit 1-0, over Scunthorpe United at Griffin Park to keep the pressure on as Adeyemi scored the only goal in the 70th minute. Brentford 4th, Scunthorpe United 20th.

Yeovil Town also sealed a win, with theirs coming at the expense of fellow play-off chasers Tranmere Rovers at Huish Park as Upson netted the only goal in the 58th minute. Yeovil Town 5th, Tranmere Rovers 6th.

Any chances AFC Bournemouth have of making the play-offs were dealt a blow by Leyton Orient as the east London side ran off with a comfortable 3-1 win at Bisbane Road. A brace from MacDonald in the 26th and 48th minutes drew a response from Pitman in the 66th minute, but any thoughts of a draw for the Cherries evaporated when Lisbie netted in the 79th minute, leaving the Cherries with a 4th straight defeat. Leyton Orient 11th, AFC Bournemouth 7th.

Walsall are just 5-points off a play-off place as they saw off near neighbours, Shrewsbury Town at Bescot with a 3-1 win. Goals from Grigg (30th min pen and 54th min) and Westcarr (47th min) wrapped the game up before McAllister netted for the Shrews in the 77th minute. Walsall 8th, Shrewsbury Town 18th.

Improved Notts County sealed a single goal win over Carlisle United at Meadow Lane as Judge scored the only goal in the 35th minute. Notts County 10th, Carlisle United 16th.

A brace from Proctor (17th and 48th mins) sealed a win for Crawley Town over Bury at Gigg Lane to hoist the Sussex side comfortably in to mid-table, while Bury still have work to do at the foot of the table. Bury 22nd, Crawley Town 12th.

Franchise FC and Preston North End managed to play out a 1-1 draw at Stadium:Franchise as a 2nd minute Chicksen goal was cancelled out by a 7th minute Hayhurst leveller. Franchise FC 13th, Preston North End 17th.

Not since the end of September have the words Portsmouth and win appeared in the same sentence! For the first time in 23 matches Portsmouth managed to claim victory, the honour of that first win came over Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road. Agyemang (6th min) and Connolly (29th min) set the win up, with Pogba setting off a few nerves with a 63rd minute consolation. Crewe Alexandra 14th, Portsmouth 24th.

Colchester United boosted their chances of staying up with a 2-0 win over Stevenage Borough at Broadhall Way as an Ibehre brace in the 62nd and 73rd minutes sealed victory to edge the home side closer to the drop-zone. Stevenage Borough 15th, Colchester United 19th.
