League One Review - May 25th

After a blistering opening 10-15 minutes for Rovers, Leeds United came back in to the match but didn't create a meaningful chance to test Neil Sullivan in the Donny goal.

Then just after restart, a cross from the Rovers right found ex-Cherry Jamie Hayter free to head home from the penalty spot, sending the 25000 Rovers fans in to raptures behind the goal where they'd just scored.

Leeds tried to come back in to the game again, but as in the first half, they failed to test Sullivan at any stage, instead giving him catching practice inside his 6-yard area.

Man of the match, James O'Connor, was in inspired form as he prevented many surges forward by the Leeds left hand side.

At the end, it was Doncaster Rovers who held out for a famous victory over their Yorkshire neighbours, lifting Sean O'Driscoll, Richard O'Kelly and 4 ex-Cherries in to the Championship for the first time in 50 years.

CONGRATULATIONS DONNY ROVERS!!
