After their recent wobble which saw the lead at the top cut to just a point or two, Tranmere Rovers have again opened up a decent lead following a 1-0 success over Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park. McGurk scored the only goal in the 54th minute, which proved to be the winner. Oldham Athletic 19th, Tranmere Rovers 1st.

Sheffield United lost their unbeaten start to their League campaign, going down to a single goal against Franchise FC at Stadium:Franchise. Williams scored the only goal of the game, from the penalty spot, in the 90th minute. Franchise FC 7th, Sheffield United 2nd.

Stevenage Borough suffered a surprise home defeat at the hands of their ex-managers current squad, Preston North End. Beavon gave PNE the lead in the 6th minute which was cancelled out by Tansey just 9 minutes later. King restored PNEs advantage just after the half hour, with Monakana extending that lead just before the hour mark. The points were sealed and heading back up the M1/M6 when Wroe made it 4-1 to the visitors in the 72nd minute. Stevenage Borough 3rd, Preston North End 10th.

Play-Off chasing Notts County and Crawley cancelled each other out at Meadow Lane. Bishop gave County the lead in the 12th minute with Forte levelling on the stroke of half time. Notts County 5th, Crawley 4th.

Swindon Town managed to see Walsall off at Bescot with goals from Ferry in the 1st minute and Ritchie in the 62nd minute. Walsall 17th, Swindon Town 6th.

Brentford closed the gap on those just above them with a decent 2-1 win over Carlisle United at Griffin Park. Douglas gave the Bees a 20th minute lead only to see Garner level matter 6 minutes later. The winner came in the 61st minute when Hayes popped up with the all important goal. Brentford 8th, Carlisle United 15th.

Doncaster Rovers slipped to their 2nd home defeat in a week when Arter popped up with a 38th minute winner for AFC Bournemouth at the Keepmoat. Doncaster Rovers 9th, AFC Bournemouth 12th.

Yeovil Town compounded the woes of Hartlepool United as an Edwards winner in the 7th minute proved to be enough to keep the Pool a massive 10-points adrift of safety even at this early stage of the season. Yeovil Town 11th, Hartlepool United 24th.

Midtable Crewe Alexandra and Colchester United managed to share 5-goals at Gresty Road. Sears and Henderson have ColU a 2-goal cushion with strikes in the 3rd and 30th minute. But it wasn't enough as the Alex hit back through Dalla Valle (51st min), Murphy (64th min pen) and Pogba (74th min) to seal the win. Crewe Alexandra 13th, Colchester United 14th.

Without this win, Leyton Orient would have been just above the drop zone, as it is the Os gave themselves valuable breathing space with a 2-1 win over Shrewsbury Town at Brisbane Road. A Lisbie brace (33rd min pen and 88th min winner) was enough as the Shrews threatened a come back with a Taylor leveller in th 70th. Leyton Orient 16th, Shrewsbury Town 23rd.

Still in administration and now without a manager, Portsmouth seem to be struggling at the moment, their cause not helped with an away defeat to Bury at Gigg Lane - an unthinkable result even a couple of seasons ago. Goals from Lockwood (19th min) and Schumacher (56th min pen) sealed the win. Portsmouth did win the yellow card count 5-0! Bury 22nd, Portsmouth 18th.

A relegation 6-pointer between Coventry City and Scunthorpe United at the foot of League One - not a scenario many would have dreamed off a year or two ago! Baker gave the Sky Blues the lead in the 35th minute only for a Clarke brace (43rd min pen & 76th min) to turn the game on its' head and send the points back to Lincolnshire. Coventry City 20th, Scunthorpe United 21st.
