Charlton Athletic continue to set the pace at the top of the table as the Addicks edge Brentford out at Griffin Park, with a 1-0 win - Wright-Phillips scoring the only goal in the 64th minute. Brentford 9th, Charlton Athletic 1st.

Congratulations to Huddersfield Town who set a new League record at the Galpharm Stadium - as they managed to beat Notts County 2-1, to set a new League record of 43 matches undefeated. A Rhodes brace in the 46th and 65th minutes set the win up, leaving Bishop the task of scoring a consolation for the Magpies in the 94th minute. Huddersfield Town 2nd, Notts County 6th.

Sheffield Wednesday kept up the pressure on the leading 2 with a 2-1 win over Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park despite Baxter putting Rovers head in the 38th minute. Lines equalised on the stroke of half time, with Lowe scoring the winner in the 80th minute to take the points back over the Pennines. Tranmere Rovers 8th, Sheffield Wednesday 3rd.

Colchester United found Franchise FC in rampant mood at their Community Stadium as the visitors ran away with a comfortable 5-1 away win, even though Heath gave the U's the lead in the 24th minute. Franchise hit back through MacDonald (38th & 74th mins), Flanagan (45+2 min), Gleeson (88th min) and Ibehre (95th min). Colchester United 14th, Franchise FC 4th.

Sheffield United completed a good day for the Yorkshire sides pushing for honours this season with a 1-0 win over Carlisle United at Bramhall Lane. Evans scored the only goal of the game in the 21st minute. Sheffield United 5th, Carlisle United 11th.

Hartlepool United managed to arrest their recent slump in form with a 2-0 win over Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park. Monkhouse (21st min) and Sweeney (77th min) claimed the points to keep Pool in touch with the play-off places. Scunthorpe United 18th, Hartlepool United 10th.

Could Chesterfield be making a quick return to League Two after a 5-2 thumping at Boundary Park against Oldham Athletic? In a frantic first half, Lee opened the scoring for the Latics in the 3rd minute, with Simpson adding to the Spirites woes with a hat trick in the 12th, 17th, and 33rd minutes, with Westcarr lifting spirits in the away end on the half hour. Kuqi made it 5-1 in the 58th minute, leaving Clarke the simple task of scoring in the 88th minute. Oldham Athletic 12th, Chesterfield 24th.

After several attempts to get relegated in recent seasons, could Walsall be about to drop in to League Two as well? If they are destined to remain in the 3rd tier, then 4-2 home defeats against the likes of Bury have to be cut out! The Saddlers 5th home defeat of the season came as Sweeney gave Bury the lead in the 6th minute. Macken levelled in the 28th minute (from the penalty spot). After the break Bury ran away with it as Jones (46th min), Schumacher (63rd min) and John-Lewis (87th min) put the result beyond doubt, with Bowerman left with the simple task of netting a consolation in the 93rd minute. Walsall 21st, Bury 13th.

Preston North End seem to be peddling backwards at the moment, their cause not helped with neighbours Rochdale rubbing salt in their wounds as the Dale sneaked it with a Adams 84th minute goal to snatch the points. Preston North End 15th, Rochdale 19th.

AFC Bournemouth continue their improvement, extending their undefeated run away from home to 7-League matches. Pugh netted their only goal of the game against Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park to set up the win - their 4th on the road this season. Wycombe Wanderers 23rd, AFC Bournemouth 16th.

Struggling Yeovil Town and Exeter City could only manage a 2-2 draw at Huish Park - a result which doesn't help either in their quest at the foot of the table. Early goals were traded as Upson put the Glovers ahead in the 2nd minute, with Taylor levelling 2 minutes later. O'Flynn gave the Grecians the lead on the half hour, from the penalty spot, leaving Blizzard to make sure that the points were shared with a 56th strike. Yeovil Town 22nd, Exeter City 20th.

The only other game in League One saw Leyton Orient (17th) draw 0-0 with Stevenage Borough (7th) at Brisbane Road.
