Brighton & Hove Albion were made to scrap for their point against Bristol Rovers at Withdean after Anthony put the Pirates 1-up after 24 minutes. An own goal from Hughes put the Seagulls level in the 62nd minute, with a Wood penalty putting the home side ahead in the 73rd minute. Parity was restored when Painter put past his own keeper (93rd min) to ensure that Rovers went home with a point. Brighton & Hove Albion 1st, Bristol Rovers 16th.

Charlton Athletic closed the gap at the top to just 4-points following a 3-2 win over Yeovil Town at The Valley. Jackson gave the home side the lead in the 11th minute, with A Williams netting 6 minutes later. Racon gave Athletic the lead going in at the break with a goal in the 26th minute. A Doherty own goal put the Glovers level 10 minutes after the restart, but it was Jackson who had the last laugh in the 85th minute with the winner from the penalty spot. Charlton Athletic 2nd, Yeovil Town 23rd.

Colchester United were handed a controversial win against Hartlepool United at their Community Stadium. Murray did put Pool ahead in the 28th minute, with Bond and Odejayi turning the game round for the home side with strikes in the 57th and 60th minutes respectively. Horwood looked to have ensured a share of the spoils in the 88th minute before Henderson scored a controversial penalty in the 92nd minute, even though TV replays clearly show that the hand ball took place outside of the area. Colchester United 3rd, Hartlepool United 19th.

AFC Bournemouth were denied a first League win against Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road for 62 years even thought the Cherries established a 2-goal lead with a Pugh brace in the 2nd and 48th minutes. Tehoue netted a brace for himself in the 85th and 92nd minutes to deny the Cherries a much needed away win. Leyton Orient 18th, AFC Bournemouth 4th.

Despite their off-field problems and the threat of Administration, Sheffield Wednesday headed south to Stadium:Franchise to claim a fine 4-1 away win against Franchise FC, even though Carrington put the home side ahead in the 6th minute. Mellor netted a hat trick for the Owls with strikes in the 22nd, 71st and 83rd minutes, which left Chadwick the dubious honour of putting past his own keeper to complete a miserable afternoon for the home side. Franchise FC 10th, Sheffield Wednesday 5th.

South Coast Club blew away Peterborough United at St Mary's as the home side celebrated their 125th birthday, with a 4-1 win. Barnard (28th min), Fonte (46th min), Chaplow (50th min) put the home side in to a commanding position just after the break. McLean pulled one back for the Posh in the 76th minute, only to see Guly restore the 3-goal advantage 4 minutes later. South Coast Club 6th, Peterborough United 11th.

Oldham Athletic edged past Dagenham & Redbridge at Victoria Road as the Latics secured a single goal win after White netted in the 57th minute. Dagenham & Redbridge 22nd, Oldham Athletic 7th.

Walsall won their first match since time began with a creditable 2-1 win over Carlisle United at Bescot, even though Grella had given the Cumbrians the lead in the 26th minute. A Richards brace (37th and 53rd mins) meant that the Saddlers closed the gap to safety. Walsall 24th, Carlisle United 8th.

Exeter City got back to winning ways on the road with a 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town at the Galpharm Stadium. Duffy scored the only goal of the game in the 36th minute. Huddersfield Town 9th, Exeter City 12th.

Brentford made the long journey down to Devon to face Plymouth Argyle at Home Park, coming away with a win - their 3rd on the road this season. bean gave the Bees the lead in the 26th minute, with Fallon levelling in the 38th minute. MacDonald scored what proved to be the winner in the 67th minute. Plymouth Argyle 20th, Brentford 13th.

Tranmere Rovers eased their way to mid-table following a 1-0 win over Notts County at Meadow Lane. Showunmi scored the only goal of the game in the 50th minute to leave County in the bottom-4. Notts County 21st, Tranmere Rovers 14th.

The highest scoring game of the day in League One came at Spotland where Rochdale and Swindon Town shared 6-goals between them. Timlin had given the Wiltshire side the lead in the 1st minute, only to see Jones (20th min pen) and grant (64th min) turn the game round. Two quick goals from Swindon, Austin (78th min) and Rose (80th min), turned it round again, before Jones netted his second of the afternoon in the 84th minute. Rochdale 17th, Swindon Town 15th.
