The game of the evening was play out at St Mary's between South Coast Club and Brighton & Hove Albion, where the scoreline remained 0-0. South Coast Club 7th, Brighton & Hove Albion 1st.

Charlton Athletic couldn't capitalise on the dropped points, dropping a couple themsleves in a 1-1 draw at The Valley against Bristol Rovers. Brown gave the Pirates the lead in the 63rd minute, with Benson levelling 14 minutes later. Charlton Athletic 2nd, Bristol Rovers 16th.

AFC Bournemouth took full advantage of slips elsewhere with a 2-0 win over struggling Yeovil Town at Dean Court. Hollands gave the Cherries the lead in the 19th minute, which was followed by a McQuoid strike in the 36th minute. AFC Bournemouth 3rd, Yeovil Town 23rd.

Sheffield Wednesday put Walsall to the sword at Hillsborough, with a comfortable 3-0 win over bottom-of-the-table Saddlers. Potter (7th min), Beevers (75th min), and Morrison (83rd min) put pay to any hopes Walsall had of claiming a point. Sheffield Wednesday 4th, Walsall 24th.

Huddersfield Town find themselves back in the play-off places after a recent wobble, with a 4-1 win over Franchise FC. Kay and Roberts gave the home side a 2-goal cushion going in at the break, with strikes in the 24th and 36th minutes respectively. Rhodes netted the first of his two goals in the 47th minute, the other coming in the 66th minute after Wilbraham scored a consolation for the visitors in the 56th minute. Huddersfield Town 5th, Franchise FC 12th.

Colchester United missed the opportunity to go 2nd following a 2-0 home defeat against Brentford. Alexander (26th min) and MacDonald (90th min) sealed the win for the Bees. Colchester United 6th, Brentford 13th.

Oldham Athletic were left to lick their wounds after Exeter City managed to salvage a point at Boundary Park, but not before the Latics established a 3-goal lead at half time through White (8th min), Tounkara (17th min) and Taylor (42nd min). The Grecians hit back in the second period through Logan (77th min), Cureton (85th min) and a last gasp equaliser through Nardiello (89th min) to take a point back to Devon. Oldham Athletic 8th, Exeter City 11th.

Carlisle United and Rochdale had to make do with a share of the points at Brunton Park. Madine gave the Cumbrians the lead in the 20th minute, with a Jones penalty levelling matters in the 62nd minute. Carlisle United 9th, Rochdale 18th.

Peterborough United couldn't hold on to the lead against Leyton Orient as their visitors came from behind to share the spoils in a 2-2 draw at London Road. McLean gave the Posh the lead in the 18th minute, from the penalty spot. Revell levelled for the O's 2 minutes before the break. McLean netted again in the 61st minute, only for Smith level with 4 minutes to go. Peterborough United 10th, Leyton Orient 19th.

After their recent improvement, Tranmere Rovers suffered their 4th home defeat of the season as Hartlepool United secured a 1-0 win at Prenton Park. Gulacsi scored an own goal in the 77th minute to gift the visitors the points. Tranmere Rovers 17th, Hartlepool United 14th.

Plymouth Argyle managed to give themselves a little bit of breathing space at the wrong end of the table following a 2-1 win over Dagenham & Redbridge at Home Park, even though Tomlin gave the Daggers the lead in the 9th minute. Noone levelled in the 62nd minute, with Patterson netting the winner with 7 minutes left to play. Plymouth Argyle 15th, Dagenham & Redbridge 22nd.

Notts County managed to secure their first win for Paul Ince, but left it late to do so against Swindon Town at Meadow Lane. Hughes scored the only goal of the game in the 88th minute to secure the win. Notts County 21st, Swindon Town 20th.
