Carlisle United and Luton Town could break the dead lock between them at Kenilworth Road with the match ending 0-0. Luton Town 17th, Carlisle United 1st.

Nottingham Forest took advantage by closing the gap on Carlisle United with a convincing 4-1 win over Southend United at the City Ground. Gower put the visitors ahead in the 3rd minute, which lasted until 4 minutes before the break when Breckin equalised. Tyson put the home side ahead in the 65th minute with a brace from Agogo (73 mins and 88 mins) putting the game beyond doubt. Nottingham Forest 2nd, Southend United 5th.

Leyton Orient slipped out of the automatic promotion places following a 1-1 draw at Swindon Town. Boyd put the visitors ahead in the 87th minute, but saw Aljofree level in the final few seconds of the game. Swindon Town 10th, Leyton Orient 3rd.

Swansea City only managed a draw on their travels at the New Den when facing Millwall. Scotland had given the visitors an 18th minute lead with Whitbread and Dunne (penalty) swinging the match back the other way in the 58th and 70th minutes. Duffy rescued a poinnt for the Welsh side in the 78th minute. Millwall 21st, Swansea City 4th.

Brighton & Hove Albion manage to slip in to the play-off positions following a 1-1 draw against Walsall at Withdean. Robinson gave the home side a 36th minute lead with Demontagnac levelling for the Saddlers in the 78th minute. Brighton & Hove Albion 6th, Walsall 12th.

Leeds United got back to winning ways with a comfortable 3-1 over south coast strugglers AFC Bournemouth at Dean Court. Kandol got the visitors off to a great start following a defensive blunder in the 4th minute, but saw Reading loanee Karacan score a blinder from 25 yards in the 37th minute. Carole restored the Yorkshire sides lead in the 54th minute, with Kandol putting the game beyond doubt with a strike in the 86th minute. Dean Court saw it's highest ever League attendance with ober 9600 inside the stadium. AFC Bournemouth 22nd, Leeds United 7th.

Tranmere Rovers slipped up at home against struggling Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park. Davies scored the only goal of the game in the 90th minute. Tranmere Rovers 8th, Oldham Athletic 20th.

Doncaster Rovers were made to work for their point against Gillingham at Priestfield. Dickson had given the Kent side the lead in the 18th minute, but then saw Hayter level from the penalty spot in the 65th minute. Gillingham 19th, Doncaster Rovers 9th.

Huddersfield Town notched up a good 2-0 home win over Hartlepool United at the Galpharm Stadium. Cadamarteri put the home side ahead in the 12th minute with Beckett extending the lead in the 87th minute. Huddersfield Town 14th, Hartlepool United 11th.

Crewe Alexandra managed to notch up their first away win of the campaign against Port Vale at Vale Park. Bennett scored the only goal of the game in the 76th minute. Port Vale 23rd, Crewe Alexandra 13th.

They might not be able to win at home, but Bristol Rovers can win away. Their latest victory came away against Northampton Town at Sixfields. Lambert scored the only goal of the game in the 70th minute. Northampton Town 15th, Bristol Rovers 18th.

Yeovil Town are slipping down League One following a good start to the season. Their latest slip came against Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road. Owusu put the visitors ahead in the 31st minute with Caines levelling for a share of the points in the 89th minute. Cheltenham Town 24th, Yeovil Town 16th.
