Charlton Athletic continue to set the pace at the top of the table following a comprehensive 4-0 over Carlisle United at The Valley. Goals from Kermorgant (13th and 37th mins), Wright-Phillips (21st min) and Hollands (48th min) was more than enough to seal the points and keep the Addicks top. Charlton Athletic 1st, Carlisle United 11th.

Huddersfield Town kept up their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-1 win over Preston North End at the Galpharm Stadium. A Rhodes hat-trick (4th, 42nd and 57th mins) - his 2nd consecutive hat trick - only drew a response from Tsoumou in the 61st minute. Huddersfield Town 2nd, Preston North End 9th.

Sheffield Wednesday maintained their 100% home record with a 2-0 win over Colchester United at Hillsborough. Jones (59th min) and Johnson (70th min) proved to be too much for the Essex side. Sheffield Wednesday 3rd, Colchester United 13th.

Notts County and Brentford had to settle for a share of the points at Meadow Lane following a 1-1 draw. J Hughes put the Magpies ahead with a 38th minute penalty, with Donaldson levelling in the 46th minute. The match did see some controversy when Bees manager was sent to the stands when seen clearly obstructing Sheehan from taking a free kick from an area immediately in front of the technical area, despite Uwe Roslers benign protests that he didn't move - the TV footage shows otherwise. Notts County 4th, Brentford 10th.

Sheffield United had to settle for a share of the points against rejuvenated Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road. Porter had given the Blades the lead in the 84th minute, but a share of the points was the result after Lisbie levelled for the O's in the 96th minute! The result lifted the O's out of the drop-zone. Leyton Orient 19th, Sheffield United 5th.

Hartlepool United got back to winning ways after a recent stumble, with a 3-2 win over Chesterfield at the b2Net Stadium even though Clarke gave the Spirites the lead in the 10th minute. Quick goals from Murray and Poole (17th and 19th minutes) put the visitors ahead for the first time before Poole netted his second in the 48th minute. Holden pulled one back in the 52nd minute, but it wasn't enough. Chesterfield 22nd, Hartlepool United 7th.

Tranmere Rovers were made to work for their win over Walsall at Prenton Park. Weir gave Rovers the lead in the 59th minute, with Butler levelling in the 73rd minute. Tyriaki netted the winner with 10 minutes left on the clock to keep the Wirral side in touch with the play-off places. Tranmere Rovers 8th, Walsall 17th.

Oldham Athletic have sights on a play-off place, but aren't quite there despite a 2-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers at Boundary Park. Wesolowski (59th min) and Furman (80th min) recorded the Latics' 3rd home win of the season. Oldham Athletic 12th, Wycombe Wanderers 20th.

AFC Bournemouth were left searching for the first home win since August 13th following a 5th home defeat at the hands of Bury at Dean Court, even though Pugh gave the Cherries the lead in the 41st minute. Coke levelled 4 minutes later, with Bishop heading the winner just 8 minutes after the re-start, leaving the home camp wondering what they need to do to secure a win (even though it's obvious to the fans). AFC Bournemouth 21st, Bury 15th.

Exeter City managed to haul themselves off the foot of the table with a 3-1 win over Rochdale at Spotland, even though Eccleston gave Dale the lead in the 31st minute. The GRecians hit back through Nardiello (45th min & 56th min pen) and Taylor (81st min) to claim 3 vital points. Exeter City 23rd, Rochdale 18th.

Franchise FC (6th) had to settle for a share of the points with Scunthorpe United (16th), after a 0-0 draw at Stadium:Franchise. The same result saw Stevenage Borough (14th) being held by Yeovil Town (24th) at Broadhall Lane.
