Brighton & Hove Albion were held to a draw by lowly Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park. Murray had given the Seagulls the lead in the 35th minute, only to see Cresswell level matters with 3 minutes to go. Tranmere Rovers 21st, Brighton & Hove Albion 1st.

Peterborough United moved up in to the automatic promotion places following a 1-0 win over Carlisle United at Brunton Park. Mackail-Smith scored the only goal of the game in the 32nd minute. Carlisle United 4th, Peterborough United 2nd.

Southampton claimed their first home win of the season with a 2-0 win over AFC Bournemouth at St Mary's. A brace of dubious penalties from Lambert ensured victory for the Hampshire side. Southampton 15th, AFC Bournemouth 3rd.

Rochdale went down to a single goal defeat at St James's Park against Exeter City. Cureton scored the only goal of the game in the 49th minute. Exeter City 7th, Rochdale 5th.

Colchester United were held by Franchise FC at Stadium:Franchise in a 1-1 draw. Okuonghae gave the Essex side the lead in the 26th minute, only to see Balanta level in the 66th minute. Franchise FC 13th, Colchester United 6th.

Brentford managed to climb off the foot of League One by taking the scalp of London neighbours Charlton Athletic at Griffin Park. Alexander (13th min) and Diagouraga (31st min) gave the Bees a 2-goal lead at the break. Wagstaff scored what proved to be a consolation for the visitors in the 74th minute. Brentford 23rd, Charlton Athletic 8th.

If Huddersfield Town have any promotion ambitions this season, they are going to have to do better against the likes of Bristol Rovers. Hoskins scored the only goal of the game for the Pirates at the Galpharm Stadium to secure an important win. Huddersfield Town 11th, Bristol Rovers 9th.

After a dodgy period, Sheffield Wednesday got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Notts County at Meadow Lane. Tudgay (52nd min) and Potter (96th min) secured the win for the Owls. Notts County 14th, Sheffield Wednesday 10th.

Oldham Athletic were pegged back by stuggling Leyton Orient at Boundary Park. Taylor gave the Latics the lead in the 40th minute, with McGleish levelling for the Londoners in the 79th minute. Oldham Athletic 12th, Leyton Orient 22nd.

Dagenham & Redbridge managed to secure their 2nd win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Swindon Town at Victoria Road, the despite Dossevi scoring in the first minute. Scannell levelled just after the break with Savage scoring the winner with 10 minutes to spare. Dagenham & Redbridge 20th, Swindon Town 16th.

Hartlepool United made the long trip down to Home Park to face Plymouth Argyle, and managed to come away with a 1-0 win as Sweeney scored the only goal of the game in the 87th minute. Plymouth Argyle 17th, Hartlepool United 18th.

Yeovil Town compounded the woes for Walsall at the foot of League One as the Somerset side recorded a 1-0 win as Virgo scoring the only goal of the game in the 70th minute, leaving the Saddlers to prop the table up. Walsall 24th, Yeovil Town 19th.
