Southend United contiue their amazing start to the season, this time with a 3-0 away win blitz over hapless Bristol City at Ashton Gate. The damage was all done by Eastwood, who hit a hat trick with strikes in the 24th, 47th and 75th minutes. Bristol City 22nd, Southend United 1st.

Swansea City ran riot over Chesterfield at their newly named Liberty Stadium with a comprehensive 5-1 thrashing! Akinfenwa got the home side off to a perfect 6th minute start, which was closely followed with Trundle's first strike of the afternoon in the 10th minute. Blatherwick netted for the visitors on 20 minutes, but that's is as good as it got for the visitors as their hosts dominated! Trundle scored his second in the 27th minute with Tudor-Jones scoring the 4th for the Swans on the stroke of half time. Trundle completed his hat trick in the 75th minute. Swansea City 2nd, Chesterfield 7th.

Huddersfield Town were held at home by bottom club Swindon Town at the Galpharm Stadium in a 1-1 draw. Gurney gave Swindon a half time lead from the penalty spot. Thei lead lasted 8 minutes in to the second half as Brandon levelled in the 53rd minute. Huddersfield Town 3rd, Swindon Town 24th.

Brentford were given a simple lesson in how to play a passing game of football by a dominant AFC Bournemouth at Griffin Park! The visitors came away with they 3rd away win of the season following strikes from Keene in the 26th minute and Hayter in the 41st. Brentford 4th, AFC Bournemouth 11th.

Barnsley came out on top (2-1) over 10-man Walsall at Oakwell. Hayes put the home side ahead in the 12th minute. Walsall had Pead sent off in the 54th minute, but this didn't stop them from equalising in the 62nd minute through Fryatt. But it was Howard who scored the winner for the home side 3 minutes later. Barnsley 5th, Walsall 15th.

Scunthorpe United complete the play-off places in League One following a 4-2 win over Oldham Athletic at Glanford Park. Liddell fired the Lancashire side ahead in the 16th minute, with Butler levelling in the 27th. The home side then took the lead on the half hour, before Liddell levelled for the visitors in the 32nd minute - ending a frantic period of 3 goals in 5 minutes. After the break, Oldham resistance was broken with strikes from Crosby (51) and Sharp (55). Scunthorpe United 6th, Oldham Athletic 14th.

Port Vale suffered their 3rd home defeat of the season against Hartlepool United who notched up their 4th away win of the campaign! Williams out the away side ahead in the 11th minute, with Cummins levelling in the 42nd minute. Butler then secured the points for the north east Club in the 63rd minute. Port Vale 8th, Hartlepool United 16th.

Bradford City suffered a 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. Johnson scored the only goal of the game in the 23rd minute. Nottingham Forest 10th, Bradford City 9th.

Yeovil Town's recent revival was stopped at Layer Road as Colchester United won 3-2. Bastianini put Yeovil ahead in the 31st minute, but this was cancelled out by Iwelumo in the 42nd. Harrold put the visitors back ahead in the 50th, but again Colchester United levelled, this time through Cureton in the 67th. This set up a thrilling end as Iwelumo scored a 90th minute winner! Colchester United 13th, Yeovil Town 12th.

A few weeks ago Rotherham United were in the play-off places, but a slump has seen them slip towards the relegation zone. Their cause wasn't helped with a 1-1 draw against Franchise FC. Monkhouse out Rotherham ahead in the 23rd minute, but this was cancelled out by Kamara in the 79th. Franchise FC 23rd, Rotherham United 17th.

Doncaster Rovers slipped at home as Tranmere Rovers appear to be getting their act together at last! The 2-0 away win for Tranmere Rovers came courtesy of strikes from Davies in the 61th and Jennings in the 90th minutes at Belle Vue. Doncaster Rovers 18th, Tranmere Rovers 19th.

Gillingham dumped Blackpool in to the relegation zone at Priestfield with a 2-1 win. But they had to come from behind with a second half come back to claim the points. Parker had given the visitors a half time lead. This was cancelled out by Hope in the 48th minute, with the winner coming in the 64th minute from Harris. Gillingham 20th, Blackpool 21st.
