Charlton Athletic are the first to chalk up 10-win mark this season following a 2-1 success over Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park. Wright-Phillips netted a brace in the 6th and 41st minutes with Nicholls scoring what proved to be a consolation in the 63rd minute. Wycombe Wanderers 23rd, Charlton Athletic 1st.

Huddersfield Town could only manage a point against Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park. Norwood had given Scunny the lead in the 10th minute, with Miller levelling in the 25th minute. It looked as if Rhodes had snatched the win with a goal in the 86th minute only to see Dagnall level 2 minutes later. Scunthorpe United 16th, Huddersfield Town 2nd.

Sheffield Wednesday couldn't quite snatch a point away at Carlisle United as the Cumbrians managed to hold on to a 3-2 win at Brunton Park despite Marshall giving the the Owls the lead in the 35th minute. The home side hit back through Miller (50th min), Loy (56th min) and Noble (64th min) before R Jones pulled one back for the Yorkshire side with 2 minutes left on the watch. Carlisle United 8th, Sheffield Wednesday 3rd.

In a battle of the play-off play-off places, Sheffield United just managed to edge of Franchise FC at Bramhall Lane. Cresswell gave the Blades the lead in the 22nd minute, with Gleeson levelling in the 52nd minute. M Phillips scored the winner, bagging all 3-points for the home side, in the 67th minute. Sheffield United 4th, Franchise FC 7th.

Bury and Notts County had to make do with a share of the spoils at Gigg Lane following a 2-2 draw. Bishop gave the home side a great start with the opening goal in the 5th minute, with J Hughes netting the first of his penalties in the 37th minute. Coke restored home advantage from the spot in the 55th minute before Hughes scored his 2nd penalty of the night with 10 minutes to go. Bury 15th, Notts County 5th.

Tranmere Rovers maintained their excellent start to the season with a 2-0 away win over Hartlepool United at Victoria Road with Atkins netting both goals in the 46th and 66th minutes. Hartlepool United 10th, Tranmere Rovers 6th.

Local Lancashire pride was maintained at Deepdale as Preston North End and Oldham Athletic managed their way to a 3-3 draw. Two quick goals through Tsoumou and Proctor in the 28th and 32nd minutes gave PNE the lead before Kuqi and Wesolowski dragged it back to 2-2 before the break with goals in the 41st and 44th minutes. Devine restored the advantage foe PNE in the 64th minute before Wesolowski levelled again in the 86th minute. Preston North End 9th, Oldham Athletic 12th.

Just the single goal seperated Brentford and Stevenage Borough at Griffin Park as Beardsley scored the winner for the visitors in the 73rd minute to settle matters. Brentford 11th, Stevenage Borough 13th.

Honours even at the Community Stadium in Essex as Colchester United and AFC Bournemouth settled for a 1-1 draw. Thomas had given the Cherries the lead with a goal after just 16 seconds, with Zubar putting past his own keeper in a more sedate time of 72 minutes. Colchester United 14th, AFC Bournemouth 21st.

A massive win for Exeter City hauled them off the bottom and out of the drop-zone as they won 2-1 at Bescot against Walsall. A Nardiello brace for the Grecians in the 8th and 78th minutes sandwiched a Nicholls strike in the 12th minute to ensure victory. Walsall 17th, Exeter City 20th.

Rochdale and Chesterfield had to settle for a share of the spoils at Spotland. Westcarr gave the Spirites the lead in the 36th minute, with Jones levelling for the home side in the 74th. Rochdale 18th, Chesterfield 22nd.

Honours also even between Yeovil Town and Leyton Orient at Huish Park despite Mooney giving the O's the lead in the 30th minute. Agard and Ngala responded for the Glovers in the 37th and 41st minutes before Mooney ensured parity with an 87th minute penalty. Yeovil Town 24th, Leyton Orient 19th.
