Nottingham Forest maintained their 3-point advantage at the top of League One as they overcame Yeovil Town at Huish Park. The only goal of the game came through Holt in the 87th minute! Yeovil Town 12th, Nottingham Forest 1st.

Tranmere Rovers left it to an equally late stage in their Friday night match against Bristol City to claim all three points at Prenton Park. Mullin scored the only goal of their game in the 84th minute. Tranmere Rovers 2nd, Bristol City 13th.

Port Vale kept in touch with a home win over Blackpool at Vale Park. Constantine gave the home side the lead on the stroke of half time, which was then doubled by Sodje in the 67th minute. Southern's 90th minute goal proved to be a mere consolation. Port Vale 3rd, Blackpool 22nd.

In the London-derby, Leyton Orient and Brentford had to settle for a point as they could only manage a 1-1 draw at Brisbane Road. Simpson must have thought that he had scored the winner in the 14th minute as it took Brentford until the 87th minute to level through Tillen. Leyton Orient 20th, Brentford 4th.

Carlisle United had to come from behind to secure a point against Northampton Town at Brunton Park. McGleish put the visitors ahead in the 46th minute. The lead was short lived as Hawley levelled 9 minutes later. Carlisle United 5th, Northampton Town 17th.

Cheltenham Town look as if they could be putting up more of a challenge with their current stay in League One, this time they turned over Huddersfield Town at Whaddon Road! McCann put the home side ahead in the 9th minute. The lead was doubled by Melligan in the 70th. Abbott then pulled one back in the 85th minute to set up an interesting last 5 minutes, but an equaliser was not to be. Cheltenham Town 6th, Huddersfield Town 14th.

Swansea City bagged a single goal victory over Bradford City at their Liberty Stadium. The only goal coming through Robinson in the 72nd minute. Swansea City 7th, Bradford City 9th.

Not to keep your eyes on events at Dean Court in recent weeks is to miss something! With manager Sean O'Driscoll's final game in charge AFC Bournemouth managed to claim a final win under his leadership at Dean Court. Crewe Alexandra surcame to a Best goal in the 22nd minute. AFC Bournemouth 8th, Crewe Alexandra 15th.

Having started so well, Chesterfield have slipped just recently, but managed to claim a win against Rotherham United at Saltergate. Folan gave the home side a 7th minute lead before Hoskins levelled for United in the 10th. The eventual winner came in the 27th from Shaw for the Spirites. Chesterfield 10th, Rotherham United 24th.

Managerless Brighton managed to chalk up their 2nd away win of the campaign with a single goal victory over Millwall at the New Den. An Elliott own goal in the 87th minute secured the 3-points for the Sussex side. Millwall 23rd, Brighton & Hove Albion 11th.

Managerless (until Monday anyway!) Doncaster Rovers slipped up at home against struggling 10-man Gillingham at Belle Vue. The Kent side took the lead in the 9th minute through Crofts. A second was added from the penalty spot by Flynn in the 38th minute. This coming after the Gills had Jackman sent off for a second bookable in the 32nd minute. Donny's consolation came through a Clohessy own goal in the 77th minute. Doncaster Rovers 16th, Gillingham 19th.

Single goal victories must have been the order of the day as Oldham Athletic secured the same against Scunthorpe United at Boundary Park. McDonald scored the only goal of the game in the 33rd minute. Oldham Athletic 18th, Scunthorpe United 21st.
