Luton Town maintained top spot (by a point) this weekend, but were made to work for it by Huddersfield Town. Luton took the lead 11 minutes before half time through Brkovic, but the home side battled back so that they snatched a last gasp equaliser deep in to second half injury time through Beckett. Huddersfield Town 14th, Luton Town 1st.

Hull City could not take advantage of Luton's slip, as they could only manage a 1-1 draw themselves against Bristol City. Nick Barmby helped himself to his 7th League goal of the season on 59 minutes, but it wasn't enough as Leroy Lita scored the equaliser on 76 minutes. Hull City 2nd, Bristol City 7th.

Tranmere Rovers scored one of the fastest goals of the day when they scored in the first minute at Valley Parade against Bradford City, Hume taking advantage of the situation. The lead lasted until the second period when vetran Dean Windass levelled in the 77th minute.

The only winning sides in the top-6 were Hartlepool United and Brentford. Hartlepool United travelled to Saltergate and came away with a 1-0 away win against Chesterfield. Boyd scored the winner in the 55th minute. Chesterfield 13th, Hartlepool United 5th.

Meanwhile at Griffin Park, Brentford won by the same scoreline against Franchise FC. Hunt converted a penalty in the 78th minute to claim the points. Brentford 6th, Franchise FC 23rd.

Swindon Town are back in form again after a mid-season slump. They headed for Oldham Athletic and came away with a 2-1 win despite going a goal behind. Cooper netted with a sweetly struck shot in the 14th minute, but Parkin (60) and Smith (69) made sure that the points headed back to Wiltshire. Oldham Athletic 16th, Swindon Town 8th.

AFC Bournemouth lost again on their travels (for the 7th time) as they went down 2-1 against Port Vale at Vale Park. Garreth O'Connor scored one of the best goals he'll even score by dancing through several defenders before he fired home from the edge of the area. But it wasn't enough as Paynter (17) and Birchall (34) made sure that the points remained in the Potteries. Port Vale 18th, AFCB 10th.

Doncaster Rovers travelled down to the South West for an afternoon at Torquay United, and made the long journey back to Yorkshire pointless as Torquay enhanced their chances of staying up. Constantine (7) and Akinfenwa (19) put the home side in to 2-0 lead before the break. But try as they might Donny could not salvage a point, but did manage a consolation through Johnson in the 87th minute. Torquay United 20th, Doncaster Rovers 11th.

Walsall were made to work at home against Wrexham and had to come back to level twice to ensure that a point stayed at Bescot. On 12 minutes Wrexham took the lead through Ferguson, before Walsall levelled for the first time through Wrack on 20. Wrexham regained the lead on 22 through Llewellyn, but thie evaporated 3 minutes before the break as Leitao levelled. Walsall 15th, Wrexham 22nd.

Having been top in the early stages of the season, Colchester United now find themselves looking over their shoulders at the teams battling against the drop. They didn't help their cause with a home defeat against one of those just beneath them. A Grayson strike in the 75th minute made sure that the points went back to Blackpool. Colchester United 17th, Blackpool 19th.

Peterborough United and Stockport County fought out a relegation 6-pointer at London Road which saw Barry Fry come out on top as Willock (24) and Logan (60) secured an all important win. Stockport netted what proved to be a consolation in the 49th minute through Jackman. The defeat leaves County effectively 13 points adrift of safety. Peterborough United 21st, Stockport County 24th.

The only other game in League One saw Barnsley host Sheffield Wednesday in front of 19659 at Oakwell. This particular Yorkshire derby resulted in a 0-0 draw. Barnsley 12th, Sheffield Wednesday 4th.
