Luton Town finally lost their 100% record away to Sheffield Wednesday, drawing 0-0 in front of an impressive 20806 crowd at Hillsborough. The result keeps Luton top of the table, 5 points clear of Chesterfield who were surprisingly held in by Franchise FC in a 2-2 draw at Saltergate.

The home side had raced in to a 2-0 advantage with goals from N'Toya (31) and Downes (48), before Franchise hit back through McLeod (64) and an 88th minute equaliser from Small.

Third placed Port Vale won 2-0 away to Bradford City with Paynter and Smith goals either side of half time at Valley Parade.

Early season table toppers, Colchester United appear to be in a dodgy spell as they slipped to their first home defeat of the season (and to 4th) as they lost to a single Parkin goal (7 mins) giving Swindon Town 3 points at Layer Road.

Hull City were well and truly seen off by Huddersfield Town at the Galpharm Stadium, being soundly beaten 4-0. The Town goals came from Abbott (7), Edwards (19), Brandon (74) and Booth (87) to secure 3 points, and lift them up to 11th in front of 13542.

Hartlepool United were held by Barnsley at Victoria Park (1-1). A Boyd (77) goal cancelled out a first half strike from Chopra (38).

Donny Rovers piled on the away day misery for Walsall, beating then 3-1 at Belle Vue. Fenton and McIndoe had already put Donny 2-up before Fryatt netted for the Saddlers. The comeback attempt was put in its' place when Blundell made it 3-1 with 2 minutes left on the clock.

Peterborough United suffered their first home reverse of the campaign as Bristol City recorded their first away win. Lita netted for the Robins on 72 minutes.

Torquay United compounded the start for Feeney's new side Stockport County, recording their first win of the campaign at Edgeley Park. An impressive 2-0 win was secured with a brace from Gritton (30 & 58) to lift Torquay up to 21st. leaving Stockport County, with all the money they have spent, second from bottom!!

Blackpool, Wrexham, Oldham Athletic and Tranmere Rovers didn't play.
