Brentford have announced that they are expecting to post a £300k loss for the 2004/05 season. Given their current debt of £4.5m, they anticipate taking out a loan to cover the loss and to keep themselves within their current overdraft limit. As is common amoung so many lower league sides, Stephen Callan, their executive director, is quoted as saying "In the meantime we have a constant struggle to survive".

Peterborough United have been dealt a blow as defender Sagi Burton is going to be sidelined for up to 8 weeks following a fall on a shoulder in their game at Layer Road on Saturday.

Torquay United are also suffering from injuries sustained at the weekend. In their case, they have lost defender Lee Canoville (ankle) and midfielder Alex Russell (hamstring), both of whom were withdrawn during the first 45 minutes against Sheffield Wednesday.

Two goals in 2 minutes for Hartlepool United gave them victory over Huddersfield Town at the newly names Glapharm Stadium on Monday night. Goals from Kevin Betsy and Mark Tinkler helped secure 4th spot for last seasons play-off semi finalists.
