Leeds United Reaction - Cherries I

Speaking after the Cherries first ever win over Leeds United, assistant manager Jason Tindall was quoted on BBC Radio Solent as saying: "It was a fantastic performance - to be able to play Leeds in the way we did and score 4-1 and win the game comfortably, and we probably should have scored more. It’s a terrific result but even more importantly it was a great performance. We are always at our best when we start really well and we press and have lots of energy about us, and the start was fantastic. We got our just rewards for such a good start and got three early goals and I think it settled everybody down. We are still a little bit disappointed at times with ourselves on the ball, we felt we could have been better but some of our passages of play tonight were fantastic and we got some really good goals".

On the prospect of making the end of season play-offs: "It’s going to be a big ask still. It’s going to be tough for us to get in the play-offs but all we can do is keep performing the way we are and keep working as hard as we are, and if we continue that kind of work ethic and performances like tonight, who knows where that could take us. We take each game as it comes, and from now until the end of the season our aim is to win every game that we play in and we are going to go into each game with that in mind. Starting from Saturday at Birmingham, hopefully we can get another three points and come five o’clock hopefully the gap will be a little bit shorter. Our aim at the start of the season first and foremost was to stay in the division - as the season has progressed our aim has become to try and become the team with the highest ever finish. That’s still our aim. We want to try and accumulate as many points as possible of course, but we take each game one game at a time and hopefully if we can continue the form we are in right now, maybe the play-offs are a possibility, but we will just keep going as we are".
