Leyton Orient Reaction - August 13th

Speaking on BBC Radio Solent, manager Sean O'Driscoll is quoted as saying: "At times I thought we played really well but at times we were quite naive. It mirrored the first two games of the season where we didn't turn up against Chesterfield but were outstanding against Yeovil. At times I thought we were poor and at other times we were really good. I don't know whether that was down to us or Orient's play - they gave us problems but we got back into it, stuck at it and showed a great deal of character. We got our noses in front and you just thought maybe this was our first win on the board. It was a disappointing second goal and losing Lionel, when we'd brought him on to try and cause them some problems with tired legs. He gets round one, works himself into the box and then pulls his hamstring. That made it difficult for the last five or six minutes. They had the wind behind them and they pushed us back and unfortunately we couldn't hold on".

Jamie Hayter was also quoted on Solent as saying: "We are very disappointed at the minute, we didn't put a great performance in. We come in one-nil down at half time, turned it round, got a goal up and obviously they've come back and won, nicked it at the end so we're absolutely gutted at the minute. They played well in the first half and we couldn't get near them at times but we sorted it out a bit at half time, got on top a little bit, got the two goals. But they got back into the game from a set piece, which was disappointing. And then when we were down to ten men they've gone away and nicked it in the last couple of minutes".

The Leyton Orient manager, Martin Ling, is quoted on their official site as saying: "It should never have had to be decided so late - I thought we controlled the game, especially in the first half-hour, but then we've had a disappointing 15 minute period after half-time when we've got sloppy and conceded two goals. If you get sloppy in this league you get punished and that's proven by the two goals they scored. But we showed excellent fighting qualities to come back and I thought the strikers today were particularly good for us. Both Alexander and Steele were on fire - they looked like they could get through to their goalkeeper at will".
