Leyton Orient Reaction - From Bournemouth

After the match, Kevin Bond was quoted on BBC Radio Solent as saying: "I'm just delighted to get three points in a desperately important game, that's the main thing. Obviously the result, the manner it came, and the performance is a bonus but the most important thing for us at this moment in time is three points. I'm absolutely chuffed to bits with that. I thought that all the goals were quality goals. Marc Wilson's side footed pass into the back of the net for the first goal. Darren turned it round the keeper for the second and then you are on your way. We had a few words at half time because they [Orient] had had chances as well and the game wasn't over. I thought the next goal would be hugely important - if they had got it, who knows what would have happened. Thankfully for us, we got it and then went on and ended up comfortable winners. They had a lot of the ball, got a lot of balls into the box but we defended them well. Set pieces were dangerous for them, corner kicks underneath the goalkeeper so we had to keep our wits about us and we had to defend. We needed to not give them any encouragement and in fairness to the lads they did that".

When asked about the defensive duo of Gowling and Young, he said: "I thought they defended excellently. Josh has done really well, knuckled down and his concentration has been brilliant the last couple of games. To keep Broady out of the side, who I have got a lot of time for, they've done really well".

Hat trick hero Darren Anderton was quoted on BBC Radio Solent afterwards as saying: "Everything went for us today. There have been plenty of games where we haven't had the rub of the green and every time we had an opportunity we got the breaks and made it a very enjoyable second half. There have been times were we have played well in games and not taken our chances and obviously made games hard work for us so it is nice, especially when you score two in the first fifteen minutes and then you get the third straight after half time. Like I say, it makes it a very enjoyable second half".

On his hat trick, he went on to say: "The first one was a ball that was laid in from the left, from Warren Cummings, I'm not sure. It was just a little bit behind me and luckily I was able to get a good touch on it, pull it back into my path and I hit it pretty sweet. The second one straight after half time, James Hayter had a bit of a tangle with a defender, both went down and I was able to nip in and strike it. I hit it okay but the goalie probably should have done better but I'll take it! The third one was, well what can you say? A cracker! I've scored hat tricks in pre-season but not in a proper game and it was a big game for us as well - a six pointer. It was a good feeling and I really enjoyed it. Obviously scoring in World Cups is pretty special and I wouldn't put it above that but very enjoyable. Since the new year we have improved, there is no doubt about that. We won the first two then lost the next two which is terrible for us really but our last two results have shown really good character - our first away win last week and then to score five at home is great for our confidence, great for the fans and in the run in we want to make this our fortress. Let's hope we can keep that going".
