Lincoln City Reaction - Cherries

Jimmy Quinn is quoted on the Clubs Official Web Site as saying: "I'm very disappointed. We never got going in the first half and gave Lincoln too much respect. We stood off them and made them look like Brazil and it wasn't until we conceded a goal and came in at half time that we reminded people that they had to do their jobs. Once we got that sorted, we dominated the second half, but never looked like scoring. The first goal is always important at this level and if it's the away team who gets it, they will put bodies behind the ball. The performance in the second half was a lot better, but we can't wait until we give teams the lead before we get going. From that perspective, the hard work we put in against Dagenham was lost today. I'm not going to dwell on it too long. We have an important game on Tuesday and we have to focus on that. The lads are in for training on Sunday and we will have a chat about working harder because the first half was unacceptable. We put a lot of hard work in to training to prepare for the game and to stop the opposition building any momentum in their play and we simply didn't do that. To be fair to them, they showed a reaction to what was said to them and did improve and penned them back, without producing the quality to put the ball in the back of the net".

Jason Pearce was quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "You've got to stay positive for the whole season. Personally, I think we can get out of it and think we've got a good enough squad. We just need to get a few more goals and hopefully we'll go on a little run, put a few wins together and get out of the position we're in. In the first half we let them play out too easily and they had too much possession and looked a better team than they are. I think we proved that in the second half and it showed as we had a lot of possession and they hardly got out of their half. But we couldn't break them down and get the goal we needed. It's very frustrating because we were locking it up at the back and at times went three for three at the back, but we couldn't get that breakthrough. If we'd scored I think we'd have gone on to get another one but we just couldn't get that breakthrough. I think the second half proved we can have a lot of possession and hopefully we'll go into Tuesday's game with a lot of confidence although we lost against Lincoln".
