Speaking after the match on the goal keeping errors made by David Button, manager Eddie Howe is quoted as saying in the Bournemouth Evening Echo: "David is a young goalkeeper and is going to make mistakes. He will probably make plenty more between now and the end of his career. It was really unfortunate for him because he's a very good goalkeeper. But these things happen and it's about how we respond".
Eddie went on to say about the performance in general: "I've never been so disappointed after a football match, more for the lads and the supporters who came and travelled up because I thought the boys were magnificent. Apart from the first 20 minutes, I thought it was the best we had played. After Lincoln had taken the lead, they hardly had a shot. We never looked in any danger in the second half. We were comfortable at 3-1 and were absolutely cruising. Brett was excellent again and that's the fifth game on the trot he's been outstanding. He can be very proud of his performance. Steve Fletcher caused them a real problem and enabled us to get runners off him. There were a number of excellent displays and the boys in midfield all did very well. We have to take some positives and move on. We're unbeaten in three and although this result wasn't what we wanted or deserved, it has given us something to take into our next game".
