Macclesfield manager, Keith Alexander, was quoted after the match as saying: "Naturally I'm disappointed but Bournemouth are a very good team and you can see why they are top of the league. We're not a million miles away. All we really need is someone to put the ball in the back of the net to convert all our good work and I will be looking for someone when the window opens up. I played John Rooney on the left wing because I thought he would deliver some quality but when he had his chance he missed it, but that happens in football and you've just got to move on".
