Massive Back-to-Back Home Matches Ahead

A month ago, Cherries fans could be excused for having half an eye on the battle to avoid the drop back to League One let alone the battle to get in to the play-offs at the other end of the table. But a remarkable run of results during March has seen AFC Bournemouth hoist themselves to having half a shout to make it in to the end play-offs and a place in the Barclays Premiership!

Before we get too carried away, there's no doubt that the next two home matches, against Queens Park Rangers and Reading are going to be massive in determining how realistic those play-off ambitions are, starting on Saturday with the visit of Harry Redknapp's QPR.

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, manager Eddie Howe is quoted as saying: "It is going to be very difficult and we are still not in the driving seat. The other teams are masters of their own destiny and we are trying to catch them. We have seven games to go with big home games against QPR, Reading and Nottingham Forest. These games will dictate what happens, especially the next two. They are huge".

On the level of support shown throughout the month, Howe went on to say: "The support and dedication has been incredible. I am really pleased we have be able to give them some results to enjoy as well because there have been some long journeys in there. Full credit to them and I can’t thank them enough for their support. I am excited because this club has never before been in this position. Who wouldn’t be excited by the run we are on and the football we are playing. I think these are exciting times for the club, whether we make the top six or not".
