McQuoid Called Up

Following back-to-back hat-tricks, the first time any Cherry player has done that since 1957, Josh McQuoid has been rewarded with a call-up to the Northern Ireland senior squad to face Morocco.

On the call-up, manager Eddie Howe is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "Being away with international players can only make him a better player, so it’s great. He’s been playing well. He went through a spell where he didn’t score but he was playing well and contributing to the team. Now he’s got the goals to back up those performances, so I’m sure Josh couldn’t be feeling any better. t’s great the players here are getting the recognition they deserve. We’ve had some really consistent performers for the past two years so to see a couple of them get international call-ups is great for the club and reward for the players’ hard work".
