As the squad re-structuring continues, the Club has announced that defender Jon Meades has had his contract terminated by mutual consent after he signed a 2-year deal to come to AFC Bournemouth from Cardiff City last Summer.

Even though AFC Wimbledon wanted to make his loan move permanent, it is now looking likely that Meades is set to join League Two Oxford United.

On the departure, manager Eddie Howe is quoted as saying in the Bournemouth Evening Echo: "Jon did very well during his loan spell with Wimbledon. We would love to be in a position to keep everybody but, unfortunately, we can’t. We can’t carry too big a squad and we need players who are going to be able to step in and play in the Championship. We need to create room for potential new signings and the agreement with Jon was reached with that in mind".
