Speaking after the match, manager Jimmy Quinn was quoted as saying in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "I know it's difficult and I know it's frustrating but I would say to the fans, if you can help it, don't give Blyth Spartans a lift. We need to make this place as loud and intimidating as we can. I know it's difficult but I would ask the fans to try to be a little bit patient. We're in a difficult situation but we're working hard. The fans had a bit of a moan tonight but we've got to be bigger than that. They have got every right to moan if they don't see shots on goals and I didn't think we took enough responsibility to test their keeper. Joel Ward has got a massive heart and will battle away for you. He made one or two decisions and played the wrong ball that went through to the keeper and it will affect him because of his age. It was a disappointed dressing room but it wasn't for a lack of effort, it was just quality. We were better in the second half than we were in the first. I didn't think we got to grips with winning our battles. We had the majority of the play in the second half but without that little bit of quality to get us a goal. We could have lost and it would have been a lot worse. It's painful getting over this barrier of getting into the black but we will do it. Goals give you confidence. One or two looked a little bit lethargic near the end, a little bit leggy and that's a confidence thing. If the ball had gone into the net, everybody would have been on their toes and sprightly. That's the nature of the game and my job is to try to keep these lads as confident as I can".

Keeper Shwan Jalal was quoted as saying: "I think the crowd are fantastic and although they've got a right to criticise, I just don't think it gets you anywhere to be honest. Not even Manchester United or Liverpool put on a performance every week. We just need them on our side at the moment because it's a tough time".
