Scorer of the first goal, Joel Ward, was quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "I didn't think our first-half performance was one of our best but we played some nice stuff in the second. We got the ball down and the lads worked hard to create chances. To be honest, I'm still not 100 per cent clear about my goal because it was a bit of a blur. We had worked on the corner routine all week in training and Rhoys's delivery was different class. I just saw the ball and went for it. I was delighted to get my first league goal and delighted to be given the opportunity to appear in the final game of the season. I've been out for a while and it has been very frustrating. I was just starting to get a good run in the side and starting to make the position my own. But I had a bit of bad luck and it was a shame not to be involved in the last few games when the lads did brilliantly to stay up".
