Abdul is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "There was interest three months ago, but, as I understand it, there were difficulties in negotiations with Structadene. I had not had any formal offer in writing until 11am on Thursday morning. There is an interested party and we are definitely looking into it. They are interested in purchasing the ground and hopefully our rent will be reduced as a result of that".
He also went on to say about another possible conflict of interest: "I do not want a conflict of interest in any way, I can assure you my decision will always be based on what is best for AFC Bournemouth".
