At a lunchtime press conference, Jimmy Quinn and Jason Tindall were named as the new manager and assistant manager of AFC Bournemouth.

Speaking after Chief Exec Savi introduced them, Quinn is quoted as saying (full transcript on the Clubs Official Web Site): "I am delighted to be back at AFC Bournemouth. First and foremost, the aim has to be to get enough points to stay in this league. That is the priority and we can do that by everybody working together. As far as I'm concerned, the supporters are part of the team and can act as a twelfth man.

I will tell the players to go out and show passion and commitment to show the supporters that they will give everything that they have got. If we do that, then even if we lose a game, the supporters will forgive you. That hasn't been happening at the club, so that is why I am standing here today and it's a challenge I'm looking forward to.

I will be doing what I feel I am good at and I want the players to be fully aware of their responsibilities and what I am looking for from them. It is about hard work in what is a difficult situation here. This though is a no blame and no excuse environment and that is how I have always worked. I don't want people here focusing on the 17 point deduction, it's about performances.
You get good performance levels by working hard, getting fitter and focusing on that belief that you can win a game. So we are not thinking about the deduction, blaming anybody or using it as an excuse. There are enough games left this season to get the points that we need. We need to get them as soon as we can and then see where we are come Christmas and then you don't know what might happen
".
