With Howe and Tindall gone, the focus switches to who will be looking after the first team until such time as a new manager is appointed.

Chairman, Eddie Mitchell is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying on potential candidates: "Yes we have, several. I wouldn’t want to name them, obviously. Tuesday is four days away and a lot can be done in four days. We wouldn’t rule out bringing in somebody. We’re not going to be rushed into anything. I think Eddie has set up the playing side of the club very well and it will be a great opportunity for somebody to come in and carry on his good work. I’m a great admirer of Eddie and Jason. They’ve done fantastically for the club as players and managers. I wish them all the best. I’m sure we’ll see more of them on the television as time goes on and I hope we can stay in touch with them as a club and personally".

In the meantime, first team matters will be handled by Lee Bradbury and Steve Fletcher.
