Oldham Athletic Reaction

Speaking on BBCi, Sean O'Driscoll praises our opponents Oldham by saying: "Credit to Oldham, I thought they were a good side when we played them up there last year - they're on the right lines. In a couple of years, with the players they've got coming through, they'll be a force to be reckoned with".

At the same time Sean rightly singles out Garreth O'Connor for praise: "He's played well in a lot of games - he's got wonderful talent, it's about time he scored more .... he scores a lot in training but in games he tends to take another touch - he's got a cracking shot in both feet and we've encouraged him to shoot more. He's been one of the unsung heroes this season, he's done extremely well".

For Oldham Athletic, their manager, Brian Talbot, is rightly quoted on BBCi as saying: "To be honest, I think it was an unfair reflection of the game .... we created good opportunities to score but didn't take them. Against the run of play, they got the second goal and after that it was game, set and match. We're young at the back, and we're not physically strong enough. We know that, but hopefully we might have Dean Holden and Will Haining back this week".
