Oldham Athletic Reaction - Cherries

Manager Kevin Bond was quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "I haven't got any complaints with the result. We were second best in most departments. Their front two and their wide players were a constant threat, while their two central defenders dominated and their full-backs handled our wingers. We didn't get going in the first half and I was happy to come in at half-time to try to sort out one or two things. I thought we started better in the second half and, when we were trying to get up a head of steam, we conceded the first goal".

Of the first goal where Gowling allowed too much space for Hughes to turn and score, Bond went on to say that: "We should have been tighter and not dropped off him. But you wouldn't expect to get beaten by a shot from that far out. We were disappointed with the manner in which we conceded that goal and it was an uphill task from then on".
