Speaking on their official web site, manager Kevin Dillon, is quoted as saying: "This is a great result and I would question anybody who didn't get excited at the end. The atmosphere was terrific and everybody got their money's worth. This was a great advert for British football. You could detect a good atmosphere before the match and it was really enjoyable. It's as close as you get to a local derby for us in this league and it was enjoyable. Andy Sandell capped a fine performance with a superb goal. We went in at half-time and had not been threatened too much. We gave the ball away too much after the break and gave them the initiative and then they got a penalty from nowhere. I'll have to have a look at the DVD on that one. I was pleased with the way we responded. We changed the system and the extra man up front started to work. Anthony Straker was unfortunate to be left out but he made his mark when he came on with a cheeky goal at the end and I thought that we deserved the victory. It was all high tempo but the important factor was that we won. We have had a good week. We drew with the best team in the league on Tuesday in Rochdale. For this match we did all the horrible things better and we were able to mix it up. We have some good footballers here and they worked hard for this victory. The fans were great. You could see them jumping around and getting excited and it makes the game when you see them enjoying themselves".
