Partington: Club v Country

Despite his call up by Wales, Joe Partington is still hoping to feature for the Cherries in the coming week against Yeovil Town (JP Trophy - Sept 1st) and against Torquay United (League 2 - Sept 5th).

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Partington is quoted as saying: "Hopefully I'll be involved against Yeovil and Torquay - we'll see at the start of next week. It's important for me to try to put my face in the picture. Luckily I can play most positions on the pitch, so wherever the manager wants me to play, I can do a job for him. For Wales under-21s for example, I have been playing more as an attacking midfielder. If Eddie Howe feels I'm going to end up as a centre-back, I won't have any complaints. Most of the lads from the Welsh first team are still eligible for the under-21s - players like Sam Vokes, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Collison. To be picked among Premiership players is a great honour".
