The current Welling manager, Adrian Pennock is looking to sue Gillingham FC for the lack of a testimonial match and dinner prior to his departure from the Kent club in 2003.

Pennock is quoted on BBCi as saying: "I served the club willingly and it upsets me it has come to this. Over the ensuing two years I have been put off again and again by Mr Scally. Now we are not even speaking and I have taken that to mean the club does not intend to fulfil its agreement".

Pennock made 159 appearances (130 in the league) for AFC Bournemouth between August 1992 and October 1996, scoring 10 goals before moving to Gillingham for a 7 year stint.
