Peter Phillips has been scathing on his comments regarding Liverpool's team selection that faced Liverpool on Tuesday night. The 1-0 victory for Burnley now means we visit Turf Moor instead of Anfield on Fourth Round day.

He has been widely quoted as saying: "I think the way Liverpool approached the match last night was disgraceful, frankly. It's the biggest domestic cup competition in the world and Liverpool themselves have a great reputation and tradition in it and to treat it in that way was a great shame".

In his defence, Liverpool manager is quoted as saying that: "I was satisfied with my team selection. I say that perhaps we do not have a squad good enough for four competitions at the top level. I cannot say that my players did not try. Burnley played well and worked very hard. But I repeat, we cannot play four competitions with the same players".
