Phillips To Step Down

After succeeding Peter Swaisland as chairman 4 years ago, Peter Phillips has decided to step down as current chairman at Dean Court.

He is quoted on BBCi as saying: "I've done it for four years. It's time for a change. This is an opportunity for the board to find someone who can do a better job. There's a natural successor on the board in my vice-chairman but I'm not sure he'll want to do it. It's very tough running a business which is skint and constantly trying to compete with richer clubs on the pitch. I'd be very surprised if I'm still here in a couple of months. In fact I might not be here in a couple of days".
