Peter Phillips describes the transfer sell on clauses as “a total waste of space”, following the news on Matt Holland’s possible cut price move to Portsmouth.

7 June
It is not cut and dried over securing Lewis Buxton for next season, although Harry Redknapp hasn’t ruled it out. A working group has put forward a number of short, medium and long term solutions to avoid traffic chaos on matchdays that will arise due to the proposals over Kings Park Drive. Jason Tindall signs a new deal that should see him stay at AFCB until June 2005.

11 June
Sean O’Driscoll is optimistic of finalising all contract negotiations by the end of this week. He believes the (five) outstanding deals are nearly secured. Striker Andrew Bell has not been ruled out of winning a contract at Dean Court. Sean is one of only 14 managers and Coaches to have obtained a Certificate in Applied management (at the University of Warwick). The course started last year, aims to help Managers develop an understanding of football finance, marketing, media relations, information technology and leadership techniques.

12 June
Tickets for Steve Fletcher’s testimonial against Portsmouth go on sale next week. Former midfield player Michael Dean is reported to have joined Wessex League newboys Winchester City.

13 June
Two more friendlies are announced, 22 July at Bashley (as part of the Wade Elliott deal) and 31 July at Lymington & New Milton (as part of the deal over allowing the Reserves use of the Fawcetts Field facilities).
Danny Thomas is expected to sign a one-year deal next week.
The reserves are expecting to play in the new Pontins Holidays Combination West and Wales Division next season, alongside Bristol City, Bristol Rovers, Cardiff City, Cheltenham Town, Plymouth Argyle, Reading, Swansea City and Swindon Town.

14 June
Dean Court’s main stand will be known as the Spire Stand for the next three seasons. The Verwood based computer manufacturers Spire Technology Ltd. have signed a deal to have their name on the roof of the stand. Financial details regarding the deal have not been made public says the echo.
AFCB have applied for a “track betting licence”. If successful fans could bet on the result, score and scorer, and any other sporting fixture. The bid is due to be heard on 22 July.
