16 April
Warren Cummings has signed a deal that will see him stay at Dean Court for 3 ¼ years. Although signed on a free transfer, Chelsea will get 50% of any sell-on fee. Gareth O’Connor has had stitches removed from his injured ankle, and is making a speedy recovery. He could be in contention for a place against Hull City or Shrewsbury Town – depending on how it reacts.

19 April
Sean O’Driscoll is angry with the Northern Ireland FA over Warren Feeney’s injury. It is claimed that no one has contacted AFCB to explain the extent of the injury. The club also has to foot the bill for medical treatment, as he was not insured.

22 April
Steve Fletcher partially dislocated his left shoulder in the 2-1 victory over Shrewsbury Town, and will need to see a specialist. Portsmouth have been pencilled in as opponents in his testimonial, this pre-season, on 19 July. Scott Macdonald nets his first goal on his full debut, ending an eight-month goal drought.

24 April
Alan Connell played most of yesterday’s second half Reserve match against Reading at Dean Court.

25 April
Steve Fletcher and Jason Tindall could be rested ahead of the vital Lincoln City game tomorrow.

26 April
Alan Connell and Shaun Maher will not be back this season despite training with the first team squad again. Following the Glenn Roeder incident, it is revealed that Sean O’Driscoll is in the League Managers Association’s “Fit to Manage” programme.

1 May
Plans to extend Phil Gulliver’s loan spell into the play offs hinge on agreement from both player and club (Middlesbrough). Jason Tindall is set to delay his ankle operation to help the promotion cause, and would therefore be likely to miss pre-season. Alan Connell had 45 minutes against Queens Park Rangers (4-2 defeat) on Tuesday. Triallist Andrew Bell (from Blackburn) again played well and is not just a target of AFCB, Preston North End amongst others are said to be interested. Scott Macdonald played for Australia under-23’s in a 1-0 defeat against their Spanish counterparts, and is reported t have been unlucky not to have scored.
