Warren Feeney (hamstring) and Derek Holmes (Achilles) both expect to train tomorrow and are in contention for the trip to Bury. Wade Elliott (ankle) and Brian Stock (ligaments) are doubtful though.

Triallist Matt Strode a 22 year old central defender returns to Britain after a scholarship in America. He played 15 times for Chelsea Reserves and captained England schoolboys before his trip.

22 February
Attempts by Sean O’Driscoll to get Liverpool’s reserve leading scorer Neil Mellor on loan have been declined, although the Echo reports that the club may be prepared to let him go on loan (somewhere) at the start of next season.

David Birmingham has picked up an Achilles injury and will miss the trip tomorrow.

It is reported that Karl Broadhurst may be forced to sit out the rest of the season with his broken nose.

Ahead of tonight’s clash with Brighton, as many as seven first team players are struggling for fitness as a bout of flu sweeps the club.

Neil Prosser has been sacked from his managerial post at Hamble ASSC (Wessex League) following a poor run of results. Another former AFCB man, Larry Clay, the former Youth Development Officer has taken over the hot seat.

Apparently Oldham Athletic have been in communication with AFCB “for some time” regarding the availability of Eddie Howe. He has been given permission to talk to the Lancashire side.

Despite a dispute with Barr Construction, the sale of a player, although helpful, is not necessary at this time according Tony Swaisland.

The Devizes Gazette reports that striker Glenn Armstrong is returning to Dean Court for a further trial spell. The 19 year old has scored 69 goals in 40 games at Wiltshire League level and is currently with Devizes Town. It is expected that he will feature in the reserves upcoming games against Queens Park Rangers and or Wycombe Wanderers.
