Transfer target Ben Smith, currently at Weymouth, is now rumoured to be about to join League Two outfit Hereford United.

Smith had been a target which Kevin Bond had made public after the non-League side announced that the entire first team were on the transfer market.

Meanwhile, following the departure of Garry Hill and assistant Kevin Hales at The Wessex Stadium, the new manager down at Weymouth is ex-Cherry Jason Tindall! A press release from The Wessex Stadium reads: "Jason Tindall is appointed to the position of Player/Manager with Roy O`Brien appointed to the position of Player/Coach. Both Jason and Roy possess the right mix of skills and experience we need and will provide excellent leadership as we move forward. They will have the necessary resources made available to them to succeed and they will be working hard with the team to ensure we stay in the Nationwide Conference League. All players are now off the transfer list. Their contracts are being honoured and Jason and Roy are working very hard with them in preparation for next Saturday`s game against Halifax Town".

Cherries midfielder Stephen Cooke has joined Torquay United on loan until the end of the season. Cooke has not featured in the Cherries team since October.

Kevin Bond is hoping to re-sign Bertrand on loan from Chelsea for a month. Bond is quoted as saying in the Bournemouth Evening Echo: "Ryan is somebody we all know and I'm hoping to take him on a month's loan to buy me some time and give me an option down the left-hand side. I don't see him being allowed to stay for any longer due to his commitments with Chelsea but, from a continuity point of view, I know he'll integrate into our set-up because he's been here before".
