9 August
Alan Connell insists that he is fully fit and raring for the season to kick off.
Former Cherry Keith Rowland has joined Hornchurch. Steve Jones is also reported to be there, but the correspondent is not sure if it is the former AFCB striker.

11 August
Shaun Maher missed the season opener and awaits a scan on his ankle, following a training injury on Friday.
Neil Young also missed out with an ankle injury as well.

15 August
Shaun Maher is optimistic that he will return from injury in three weeks.
The on-site bookmakers, “Flutters” will be open for business on the concourse in the three stands at DC from tomorrow.
Sean O’Driscoll is convinced that the home support will play a major role again this season.
Phil Whitehead has joined as goal keeping coach, on a part time basis. He currently plays for Conference newcomers Tamworth. Neil Moss and Gareth Stewart have welcomed the appointment.

16 August
Brian Stock has been called up into the Wales under-21 duty and will join up with the squad after today’s match.

21 August
Warren Feeney is called up for under-21 international duty and will miss the Bristol City game. However he picked up a foot injury in the reserves’ game yesterday and this will need investigation and he may miss out anyway.
Marc Canham has been invited to spend a further month with the club, having impressed in pre-season.

22 August
Warren Feeney declares himself fit for the match against QPR. X-rays reveal only heavy bruising to his right foot.

26 August
Shaun Maher came back earlier than expected, but there were only 16 players available. Although Sean O’Driscoll was disappointed with the goals conceded, he was pleased with the players’ performance overall in the drawn game with Swindon Town.

27 August
Sean O’Driscoll waits for news on Warren Cummings (ankle) and Jason Tindall (knee) who we’re both injured in the QPR game. The latter needs a scan.

28 August
Neil Young could be in contention for a place in the squad for the upcoming visit to Wrexham, having played nearly half a game (for the Reserves against Cheltenham Town [lost 0-3] yesterday).

30 August
Sean O’Driscoll is on the verge of signing a new contract to keep him at Dean Court. Peter Grant recently agreed new terms and the club is keen to keep the pair together despite a slow start to this season.
Former Cherry Alex Watson will captain Taunton Town in their FA Cup tie against Bournemouth today.

3 September
Having aggravated an old shoulder injury in the victory at Wrexham, Steve Fletcher faces a race against time to be fit for the (scheduled for Sky TV) Bristol City game this weekend. He has already missed two training sessions this week apparently.
