Port Vale Reaction

Speaking to BBC Radio Solent after the match, manager Sean O'Driscoll, was disappointed with the result, being quoted as saying: "It was a proverbial game of two halves. In the second half they put the onus on us by putting three up front and I felt we defended well but when we had the ball we were poor and that put pressure on our back four. Credit to Port Vale, they were 1-0 down and came back. They threw caution to the wind and got their reward. We are extremely disappointed but we've worked hard to get where we are and I feel like they didn't do a lot to win the game. Sometimes when it's 1-0 you get that feeling that something is going to happen. And it was a bit of a damp squib as the fans were as quiet as I've known them to be. You got that feeling that something was going to happen".

For Port Vale, their manager, Martin Foyle, was quoted after the match as saying: "In the first half, I'd decided to drop off Bournemouth and let them have the ball at the back as they're a very good footballing side. Our passing had been atrocious, but at half-time, we pushed three up front, and we were a different side. We're very low on numbers at the moment, but we're riding our luck".
