Posh Move For Pitman Ruled Out?

With an evaluation of £800,000 on Brett Pitman, it would appear that Peterborough United's interest in the Cherries striker is slipping.

Posh's Barry Fry is quoted as saying in their local paper: "We asked Bournemouth whether or not Pitman was available They said yes, but they want £800,000 him and that's too much. We'd go to £400,000 and maybe £500,000, but that would be it. He's a good player, but that would be a lot of money for a young lad no matter how talented. We are trying to bolster the squad as soon as possible and we could get one on loan in time for the Spurs match, but it's also important that we get the right players. The manager saw the chairman before the game on Monday with the names of four targets and I am working on those. We have made lots of enquiries, but I've told the manager not to panic. The chairman will back him, but if it takes until the end of the month to get the players we need then so be it".
