Powell: I Can Do A Job

Last updated : 01 August 2008 By Bournemouth Co-Ordinator
Powell is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "I love my football so it doesn't matter where I play or in which league. I realise I'm in the latter stages of my career but I enjoy the game. played around 20 games for Charlton in the Championship last season and was only expected to play about four or five times. Some people might say I shouldn't be playing at my age but if you're still keen and working and doing the correct things in training then you are worthy of a place. Teddy Sheringham played until he was 42 and Tony Ford kept going well into his 40s as well. I'm 38. It may happen and a lot will happen between now and the start of the season. Hopefully, I'll be here and something can happen. If it doesn't, I'll move on. I'm very grateful to be training with the boys and to have come away to Exeter. I'm also grateful to have had my first 90 minutes of pre-season".
