Powell Training With Cherries

Former England defender, and ex-Charlton Athletic player, Chris Powell is reported to be training with AFC Bournemouth. If a move takes place, it could mean that Warren Cummings could be on his way, as reported earlier in the week.

Speaking to the Bournemouth Evening Echo, manager Kevin Bond confirmed that: "This is definitely a here and now short-term situation if it were to happen. I've got two young boys potentially who are going to be playing centre-half, with potentially a young goalkeeper, so you are undoubtedly going to need some experience around them. Whilst Bradders is a very experienced player, he isn't a very experienced defender. So from that point of view I wouldn't be unhappy with somebody who is a talker who can help them".
