Preston North End Reaction - Lilywhites

With the booing still ringing in their ears, the PNE players issued an apology to their fans for the 3-1 home defeat over the weekend, with their skipper (Graham Alexander) being quoted as saying: "We are not going to get cheered off the pitch if we perform like we did in the second half. The fans have every right to vent their frustration. We let everyone down – ourselves, the supporters and the manager. The management staff do their job Monday to Friday, then it’s up to the players to do our jobs on a Saturday, show how good we are, how strong we are and how much we want to win. We didn’t do that against Bournemouth, so every player on the pitch has to look at themselves and take some responsibility. In the cold light of day, we can’t get away from the fact of how many goals we are conceding. This is the third time this season we’ve conceded three at home, and there have been a couple of fours too. It’s not good enough and as a squad everyone takes responsibility – it’s not just down to the forwards when we win games, and it’s not just down to the defenders when we lose".
