Preston On The Bench For Brentford/Cooper Latest

Speaking to the Bournemouth Evening Echo about the Boxing Day trip to Brentford (1pm ko), manager Jimmy Quinn is quoted as saying: "If I'm looking to change it, I won't change it too much. To be honest, the only one I would probably look to change would be young Carl. When you are his age, it's a bit different playing away than it is at home so that might be something I may look at. All the players did well against Bury but Brentford are a decent side at home and I might have to make us a little bit more solid. You can't play youngsters in every game because they lose confidence very quickly. Carl had a good game against Bury but it wouldn't do him any harm to go on the bench on Friday. Playing in front of your own fans when they are giving you lots of encouragement is a lot different from being away when it's the opposite way around. Some young players can get lost a little bit. I'm not saying Carl couldn't cope, but it's just something we might have a look at".

Meanwhile Shaun Cooper, injured during the Blyth FA Cup match will be in contention to be included for the Brentford game. An x-ray revealed no break on his left elbow.
