Pugh Is NOT For Sale

With the loan window due to close later this week, the facility being used to faciliate permanent moves in January, the Cherries have sent out a defiant note to all clubs who might be interested in making a bid for leading scorer Marc Pugh.

Manager Lee Bradbury is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying on the talented midfielder: "We are in a different position this season to the one we were in last season. If Marc Pugh scores 12 goals before January then he is going to have people looking at him. It is the nature of the beast. But we don’t have to sell Marc Pugh now, whereas, we did sell players last season. He is a fantastic player for us. He scores goals, he creates goals and he works hard for the team. He is very much part of our plans and I wouldn’t want to sell him. We have turned a corner in that respect. In the past, we had players who did really well for us and bigger clubs took them because, financially, the club needed it. But I don’t think we do now. We have got people in place who are backing me and that is a really good position to be in as the manager. I know that if the players are going to do well then they can do it here. They can help us push forward and propel the club up the leagues rather than just the players themselves".

Cherries fans will recall that this is the same route by which Josh McQuoid was to Millwalll sold 12-months ago.
