Queen Meets AFC Bournemouth

While the Queen and Prince Philip were touring Bournemouth and Poole, they stopped off in Kings Park, where the first team were training in the stadium. In meeting the Royal party, Steve Fletcher is quoted as saying: "I think the lads were under the impression she was coming to the stadium, we didn't realise it was going to be in Kings Park with so many people. We were told about five minutes before they arrived that we would be on the right hand side of the Royal Party, which means we were due to meet the Duke of Edinburgh and not the Queen."
